Did you perform the Instrument Cluster System Check?

  1. Install the scan tool.
  2. Select SPECIAL FUNCTIONS from the INSTRUMENT CLUSTER menu.
  3. Command the coolant temperature gauge from H to C.

Does the gauge respond when commanded?

  1. Disconnect C105.
  2. Turn ON the ignition switch.
  3. Use a DMM in order to measure the voltage at terminal 11.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

B+

Go to Step 5

Replace the instrument cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .

Is the replacement complete?

Inspect between terminal 11 of C105 and terminal 1 of C115 for an open circuit.

Did you find and repair a circuit problem?

Locate and repair an open circuit.

Replace the engine coolant temperature gauge sensor.

Is the replacement complete?

  1. Connect all connectors and components that were removed in previous steps.
  2. Verify that the coolant temperature gauge operates properly.

Does the coolant temperature gauge operate properly?
