Was the Fuel Filler Door Release System Check performed?

  1. Disconnect the door lock relay key K135 connector.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  3. Use the DMM to measure the voltage between terminal 5 of the door lock relay K135 connector and a known good ground.

Is the measured voltage within the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 3

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in circuit A888 or A892.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in circuit A888 or A892.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Step 19

Use the DMM to measure the voltage between terminal 8 of the door lock relay K135 connector and a known good ground.

Is the measured voltage within the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 5

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in circuit A911.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in circuit A911.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Step 19

Use the DMM to measure the resistance between terminal 14 of the door lock relay K135 connector and a known good ground.

Is the measured resistance within the specified value?

Less than 5 ohms

Go to Step 8

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in circuit F911.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in circuit F911.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Step 19

  1. Press and hold the fuel tank filler door lock release switch.
  2. Make sure that the transmission is in the PARK position.
  3. Use the DMM to measure the resistance between terminal 1 of the door lock relay K135 connector and a known good ground.

Is the measured resistance within the specified value?

Less than 5 ohms

Go to Step 14

  1. Disconnect the fuel tank filler door lock release switch connector.
  2. Use the DMM to measure the resistance between terminal 2 of the fuel tank filler door lock release switch connector and a known good ground.

Is the measured resistance within the specified value?

Less than 5 ohms

Go to Step 11

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in circuits B901.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in circuits B901.
  3. Replace the automatic transmission shift lock control switch if these circuits are OK.

Is the repair or replacement complete?

--

Use the DMM to measure the resistance between terminal 1 of the door lock relay K135 connector and terminal 3 of the fuel tank filler door lock release switch.

Is the measured resistance within the specified value?

Less than 5 ohms

Go to Step 13

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in circuit FA811.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in circuit FA811.

Is the repair complete?

Replace the fuel tank filler door lock release switch. Refer to Fuel/Rear Compartment Release Switch Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

Is the replacement complete?

  1. Reconnected the door lock relay K135.
  2. Disconnect the fuel tank filler door lock actuator connector.
  3. Use the DMM to measure the resistance between terminal A of the fuel tank filler door lock actuator connector and a known good ground.

Is the measured resistance within the specified value?

Less than 5 ohms

Go to Step 16

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in circuit FB807.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in circuit FB807.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Press the fuel tank filler door lock release switch.
  2. Use the DMM to measure the voltage between terminal B of the fuel tank filler door lock actuator connector and a good known ground.

Is the measured voltage within the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 18

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in circuit FA805.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in circuit FA805.
  3. Replace the door lock relay K135 if circuit FA805 is OK.

Is the repair or replacement complete?

Replace the fuel tank filler door lock actuator. Refer to Fuel Tank Filler Door Lock Actuator Replacement in Body Rear End.

  1. Connect all connectors and components that were disconnected.
  2. Verify that the fuel tank filler door lock release system operates properly.

Does the fuel tank filler door release system operate properly?

System OK

Go to Step 1
