Ashtray Removal Procedure
  1. Set the parking brake and move the shifter selector to the full rear position.
  2. Open the ashtray.

    3. Object Number: 245640 Size: SH
  3. Release the outer tray cover from the right side of the assembly and remove.

    4. Object Number: 245642 Size: SH
  4. Remove the screw from the rear of ashtray.
  5. Remove the ashtray from the instrument panel (I/P).

Cigarette Lighter Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the ashtray.

    2. Object Number: 245649 Size: SH
  2. Remove the cigarette lighter from ashtray with small flat-bladed tools.

Cigarette Lighter Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 245649 Size: SH
  1. Install the cigarette lighter to ashtray by firmly seating.
  2. Install the ashtray.

Ashtray Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 245642 Size: SH
  1. Install the ashtray to I/P.
  2. Install the screw to rear of ashtray.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the screw until fully seated but not stripped. Refer to

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the outer tray cover to the ashtray assembly.
  4. Close the ashtray.
  5. Install the shifter selector to full forward position and release the parking brake.
