Was the Wiper/Washer System Check performed?

  1. Disconnect the windshield wiper motor connector.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  3. Turn the windshield wipe/washer switch to the HIGH position.
  4. Use a DMM in order to measure the voltage between terminal E of the windshield wiper motor connector and ground.

Does the voltage measure at the specified value?

B+

Go to Step  3

Use the DMM in order to measure the resistance between terminal B of the windshield wiper motor connector and ground.

Does the resistance measure within the specified range?

Less than 5 ohms

Go to Step  5

  1. Disconnect the windshield wiper/washer switch.
  2. Use the DMM in order to measure the voltage between terminal 4 of the windshield wiper/washer switch connector and ground

Does the voltage measure at the specified value?

B+

Go to Step  7

  1. Inspect for a faulty connection at terminal E of the windshield wiper motor connector.
  2. If the connection is OK, replace the windshield wiper motor. Refer to Windshield Wiper Motor Replacement .

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in CKT F9.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in CKT F9.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in CKT M9.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in CKT M9.
  3. If the CKT is OK, replace the windshield wiper/washer switch. Refer to Windshield Wiper and Washer Switch Replacement - On Vehicle in Steering.

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in CKT FY11 or in CKT FY1.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in CKT FY11 or in CKT FY1.

  1. Reconnect all of the connectors and the components that were disconnected.
  2. Verify that the windshield wipers operate properly at low speed.
