Fog Lamps Inoperative - All Both Fog Lamps Are Inoperative

Did you perform the Fog Lights Diagnostic System Check?

Go to Step 2

Go to Fog Lights System Check .

  1. Disconnect the multifunction relay K134 connector.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  3. Use the DMM in order to measure the voltage between terminal 10 of the multifunction relay K134 connector and a known good ground.

Is the measured voltage within the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 4

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in circuit X820.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in CKT X820.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Step 19

  1. Turn the headlamp switch to the PARK position.
  2. Use the DMM in order to measure the voltage between terminal 3 of the multifunction relay K134 connector and a known good ground.

Is the measured voltage within the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 6

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in CKT  RF75.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in CKT RF75.

Is the repair complete?

Use the DMM in order to measure the voltage between terminal 1 of the multifunction relay K134 connector and a known good ground.

Is the measured voltage within the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 8

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in CKT FA888.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in CKT FA888.
  3. If CKT FA888 is OK, replace the right high beam headlamp relay K132.

Did you complete the repair?

  1. Disconnect the headlamp switch connector.
  2. Use the DMM in order to measure the resistance between terminal 13 of the headlamp switch connector and a known good ground.

Is the measured resistance within the specified value?

Less than 5 ohms

Go to Step 10

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in CKT  F18.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in CKT F18.

Did you complete the repair?

Use the DMM in order to measure the resistance between terminal 10 of the headlamp switch connector and terminal  8 of the multifunction relay K134 connector.

Is the measured resistance within the specified value?

Less than 5 ohms

Go to Step 12

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in CKT FP28.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in CKT FP28.

Did you complete the repair?

  1. Connect the multifunction relay K134 connector.
  2. Connect a fused jumper between terminal 10 and 13 of the headlamp switch connector.

Do the fog lamps turn ON?

Replace the fog lamp switch. Refer to Headlamp Switch Replacement in Lighting Systems.

  1. Disconnect both the left and the right fog lamp.
  2. Use the DMM in order to measure the voltage between terminal 1 of the left fog lamp and a known good ground.
  3. Use the DMM in order to measure the voltage between terminal 1 of the right fog lamp and a known good ground.

Is the measured voltage for both measurements within the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 16

  1. Locate and repair an open or a high resistance in circuits X1, X2, X3, FP27 and/or FP36.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in circuits X1, X2, X3, FP27 and/or FP36.
  3. If these circuits are OK, replace the multifunction relay K134.

  1. Use the DMM in order to measure the resistance between terminal 2 of the left fog lamp and a known good ground.
  2. Use the DMM in order to measure the resistance between terminal 2 of the right fog lamp and a known good ground.

Is the measured resistance for both measurements within the specified value?

Less than 5 ohms

Go to Step 18

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in circuits  F1, F3 and/or F4.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in circuits F1, F3 and/or F4.

Did you complete the repair?

  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in circuit X3.

Is the measured resistance within the specified value?

Less than 5 ohms

  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in circuit F4.

Is the repair complete?
