The Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) relay is located in the convenience center behind the I/P driver knee bolster energy absorber directly below the steering column.

Refer to the label for the relay identification.

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the self-locking screws from the I/P driver knee bolster energy absorber.
  2. Slide the I/P driver knee bolster energy absorber upward to release the I/P driver knee bolster energy absorber from the tabs.
  3. Remove the I/P driver knee bolster energy absorber.
  4. Remove the DRL relay from the convenience center. Refer to the label for the relay identification.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the DRL relay to the convenience center.
  2. Slide the I/P driver knee bolster energy absorber downward to secure the I/P driver knee bolster energy absorber to the tabs to install the I/P driver knee bolster energy absorber.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the self-locking screws to the I/P driver knee bolster energy absorber.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the I/P driver knee bolster energy absorber self-locking screws until fully seated. Ensure not to strip the I/P driver knee bolster energy absorber self-locking screws.
