Removal Procedure

Tools Required

    • J 21474-5
    • J 42200
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Wheel Removal in Tires and Wheels.
  3. Remove the rear axle lower control arm. Refer to Rear Axle Lower Control Arm Replacement

  4. Object Number: 205626  Size: SH
  5. Cut off the collar on the inboard lower control arm bushing.
  6. Cut off the rubber collar on the outboard lower control arm.

  7. Object Number: 205634  Size: SH
  8. Use the following to press out the bushing:
  9. • Use a 30 mm socket.
    • Use the J 21474-01
    • Use the J 42200

Installation Procedure

  1. Coat the new bushings with lubricant to enable ease of installation.
  2. Install the inboard side bushing with the collar toward the rear differential.

  3. Object Number: 205634  Size: SH
  4. Use the following tools to press in the new bushing:
  5. • Use a 30 mm socket.
    • Use the J 21474-5
    • Use the J 42200
  6. Lubricate the outboard side bushing with silicone spring.

  7. Object Number: 205631  Size: SH
  8. Install the outboard side bushing.

  9. Object Number: 205634  Size: SH
  10. Use the following to press in the new bushing:
  11. • Use a 30 mm socket.
    • Use the J 21474-5
    • Use the J 42200
  12. Install the rear axle lower control arm. Refer to Rear Axle Lower Control Arm Replacement
  13. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Wheel Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  14. Lower the vehicle.
