Removal Procedure
Caution: Gasoline or gasoline vapors are highly flammable. A fire could occur
if an ignition source is present. Never drain or store gasoline or diesel
fuel in an open container, due to the possibility of fire or explosion. Have
a dry chemical (Class B) fire extinguisher nearby.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Loosen the fuel filler cap.
- Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
- Remove the hardware retaining section of the line that you are
replacing.
• | Observe the front EVAP line routing for installation. |
• | Observe the location of the attaching hardware for installation. |
- Remove the right front fender well in order to gain access to
the EVAP charcoal canister.
- Disconnect the front EVAP line quick connect fitting from the
charcoal canister. Refer to
Servicing Quick Connect Fittings
.
- Remove the front EVAP line from the attaching hardware.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Disconnect the front EVAP line from the EVAP test port. Refer
to
Servicing Quick Connect Fittings
.
- Pull the front EVAP line through the fender well and out of the
engine compartment.
Installation Procedure
- Remove the protective caps from the replacement line.
- Install the front EVAP line through the fender well from the engine
compartment.
- Clean any of the contamination from the male line ends and apply
a few drops of clean engine oil.
- Reconnect the front EVAP line to EVAP test port. Refer to
Servicing Quick Connect Fittings
.
- Raise the vehicle.
- Reconnect front EVAP line quick connect fitting to the charcoal
canister. Refer to
Servicing Quick Connect Fittings
.
- Reinstall the right front fender well.
- Install the front EVAP line attaching hardware.
- Install the retaining hardware.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Tighten the fuel filler cap.
- Connect the negative battery cable.
