Removal Procedure

Caution: Gasoline or gasoline vapors are highly flammable. A fire could occur if an ignition source is present. Never drain or store gasoline or diesel fuel in an open container, due to the possibility of fire or explosion. Have a dry chemical (Class B) fire extinguisher nearby.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Loosen the fuel filler cap.
  3. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
  4. Remove the hardware retaining section of the line that you are replacing.
  5. • Observe the front EVAP line routing for installation.
    • Observe the location of the attaching hardware for installation.
  6. Remove the right front fender well in order to gain access to the EVAP charcoal canister.
  7. Disconnect the front EVAP line quick connect fitting from the charcoal canister. Refer to Servicing Quick Connect Fittings .
  8. Remove the front EVAP line from the attaching hardware.
  9. Lower the vehicle.
  10. Disconnect the front EVAP line from the EVAP test port. Refer to Servicing Quick Connect Fittings .
  11. Pull the front EVAP line through the fender well and out of the engine compartment.

Installation Procedure

  1. Remove the protective caps from the replacement line.
  2. Install the front EVAP line through the fender well from the engine compartment.
  3. Clean any of the contamination from the male line ends and apply a few drops of clean engine oil.
  4. Reconnect the front EVAP line to EVAP test port. Refer to Servicing Quick Connect Fittings .
  5. Raise the vehicle.
  6. Reconnect front EVAP line quick connect fitting to the charcoal canister. Refer to Servicing Quick Connect Fittings .
  7. Reinstall the right front fender well.
  8. Install the front EVAP line attaching hardware.
  9. Install the retaining hardware.
  10. Lower the vehicle.
  11. Tighten the fuel filler cap.
  12. Connect the negative battery cable.
