Removal Procedure
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to
Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing
any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to
the vehicle or its components.
in General Information.
- Disconnect the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor
(4) electrical connector.
- Disconnect the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor (5) electrical
connector.
- Release the air intake hose clamps from the air cleaner housing
and the MAF sensor.
- Remove the air intake hose (6) from the air cleaner housing and
from the MAF sensor.
- Release the Idle Air Control (IAC) inlet hose clamp.
- Remove the IAC inlet hose (1).
- Release the air inlet hose clamps at the throttle body.
- Remove the air inlet hoses (7) from the throttle body.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the switchover valve.
- Disconnect the vacuum connections at the switchover valve and
the vacuum tank.
- Remove the intake air resonator nuts (3).
- Remove the intake air resonator.
Installation Procedure
- Install the intake air resonator.
- Insert the intake air resonator guide pin (2) into the rubber
mount.
- Install the intake air resonator nuts (3).
Tighten
Tighten the intake air resonator nuts to 3 N·m (27 lb in).
Refer to
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
