Removal Procedure

Caution: Gasoline or gasoline vapors are highly flammable. A fire could occur if an ignition source is present. Never drain or store gasoline or diesel fuel in an open container, due to the possibility of fire or explosion. Have a dry chemical (Class B) fire extinguisher nearby.

  1. Remove the accelerator cable from the accelerator pedal.
  2. Remove the pedal clip retainer, the washer and the bushings.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: The mounting surface between support and dash panel must be free of insulation in order to prevent vehicle damage. The carpet and padding in the pedal area must be positioned to lay flat and be free of wrinkles and bunches.

  1. Install the accelerator pedal.
  2. Install the pedal clip retainer.
  3. Install the bushings.
  4. Install the washer.
  5. Notice: Check for unrestricted and complete throttle opening and closing positions by operating the accelerator pedal in order to prevent vehicle damage. Also check for poor carpet fit under the accelerator pedal. Throttle should operate freely without bind between full closed and wide open throttle.

  6. Install the accelerator cable on the accelerator pedal.
