  1. Lightly coat the new seals, including the O-rings, with engine oil prior to installation to assist in holding the O-ring seals to the camshaft cover.
  2. Install the camshaft cover seals.

  3. Object Number: 345856  Size: SH
  4. Apply a thin coat of silicone sealer GM P/N 12346286, (Canadian P/N 10953472), to the front and back of the seals.

  5. Object Number: 803449  Size: SH
  6. Apply a 3 mm (0.12 in) bead of silicone sealer GM P/N 12346286, (Canadian P/N 10953472), at the front and rear of the camshaft cover between the seals.

  7. Object Number: 769007  Size: SH
  8. Install the camshaft cover to the cylinder head.
  9. Install the NEW camshaft cover bolt grommets prior to installing the camshaft cover bolts.
  10. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  11. Install the camshaft cover bolts.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the camshaft cover bolts to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  13. Install the spark plugs.
  14. Tighten
    Tighten the spark plugs to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  15. Install the coil cassette.
  16. Install the coil cassette bolts.
  17. Tighten
    Tighten the coil cassette bolts to 8 N·m (71 lb in).
