  1. Install the engine oil cooler inlet/outlet O-ring seals.
  2. Install the engine oil cooler.

  3. Object Number: 159496  Size: SH
  4. Apply a 2 mm (0.08 in) bead of GM P/N 12378521 (Canadian P/N 88901148), or equivalent, in the groove around the engine oil cooler cover.

  5. Object Number: 769032  Size: SH
  6. Apply thread adhesive GM P/N 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489) to the engine oil cooler cover bolts.
  7. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  8. Install the engine oil cooler cover bolts and tighten using the tightening sequence.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the engine oil cooler cover bolts in sequence to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  10. Install the engine oil cooler outlet nut.
  11. Install the engine oil cooler inlet nut.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the engine oil cooler inlet and outlet nuts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  13. Install the engine oil cooler pipes to the engine.
  14. Install the engine oil cooler pipe fittings to the engine block.
  15. Tighten
    Tighten the engine oil cooler pipe fittings to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  16. Install the engine oil cooler pipe seals to the engine oil cooler.
  17. Install the engine oil cooler pipe fittings to the oil cooler.
  18. Tighten
    Tighten the engine oil cooler pipe fittings to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).
