Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

  1. Observe the following parameters in each of the door modules data list:
  2. • Driver Door Jamb Sw.
    • Pass. Door Jamb Sw.
    • Left Rear Door Jamb Sw.
    • Right Rear Door Jamb Sw.
  3. Open and close each door while observing the respective parameter.

Does the scan tool display change from On to Off?

Go to Step 3

  1. Install a scan tool. Select diagnostic circuit check and then class 2 power mode.
  2. Close all the doors.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  4. Wait 5 seconds then turn the ignition OFF.
  5. Wait the time-out for retained accessory power (RAP).

Did the scan tool display the RAP power mode, then time-out and display Off-Awake power mode?

Go to Step 4

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the RAP relay.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  4. With a test lamp that is connected to a good ground, probe the battery positive voltage circuits of the RAP relay.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

  1. Connect a test lamp between the relay coil circuits of the RAP relay.
  2. Close all the doors.
  3. Turn the ignition ON, with the engine OFF.
  4. Turn OFF the ignition.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Test the RAP relay control circuit for an open or short to voltage. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 16

  1. Connect a fused wire jumper across the relay switched circuits of the RAP relay.
  2. Attempt to operate the sunroof.

Does the sunroof operate normally?

Go to Step 9

Repair the RAP relay switch supply voltage circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs.

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 16

Inspect for poor connections at the RAP relay. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs .

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 16

Repair the RAP relay supply voltage circuits for a short to ground or open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs.

Replace the RAP relay.

Did you complete the replacement?

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the rear integration module (RIM). Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs .

Replace the RIM. Refer to Control Module References for replacement, setup, and programming.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the dash integration module (DIM). Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs .

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 16

Replace the DIM. Refer to Control Module References for replacement, setup, and programming.
