Power Steering Gear Outlet Pipe/Hose Replacement LS2

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  2. Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement.

  3. Object Number: 1787146  Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the power steering gear outlet pipe/hose from the power steering gear. Discard the O-ring seal.

  5. Object Number: 1787126  Size: SH
  6. Compress the clamp (1) and disconnect the power steering gear outlet pipe/hose (2) from the power steering cooler.

  7. Object Number: 1784777  Size: SH
  8. Open the routing clip (1) and remove the power steering gear outlet pipe/hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1784777  Size: SH
  1. Position the power steering gear outlet pipe/hose to the vehicle and fasten the routing clip (1).

  2. Object Number: 1787126  Size: SH
  3. Compress the clamp (1) and connect the power steering gear outlet pipe/hose (2) to the power steering cooler.
  4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1787146  Size: SH

    Important: Install a new O-ring seal on the power steering gear outlet pipe/hose.

  5. Connect the power steering gear outlet pipe/hose to the power steering gear.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the power steering gear outlet pipe/hose fitting to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  7. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding.
  8. Install the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement.
  9. Lower the vehicle.

Power Steering Gear Outlet Pipe/Hose Replacement LP1, LY7

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1791360  Size: SH
  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the left front wheel and tire assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  3. Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement .
  4. Place a drain pan under the vehicle.
  5. Disconnect the power steering gear outlet pipe/hose (1) from the power steering gear (2). Discard the O-ring seal (3).
  6. Compress the clamp (1) and disconnect the power steering gear outlet pipe/hose (2) from the power steering cooler pipe and remove the power steering gear outlet pipe/hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1791360  Size: SH
  1. Compress the clamp (1) and connect the power steering gear outlet pipe/hose (2) to the power steering cooler pipe.
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1791434  Size: SH

    Important: Install a new O-ring seal (3) on the power steering gear outlet pipe/hose prior to installation.

  3. Connect the power steering gear outlet pipe/hose (1) to the power steering gear (2).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the power steering gear outlet pipe/hose fitting to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  5. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
  6. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
  7. Install the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement .
  8. Lower the vehicle.
