Power Steering Return Hose Replacement LHD

Removal Procedure

  1. Place a drain pan under the vehicle.
  2. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls-2.6L and 3.2L.

  3. Object Number: 798334  Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the power steering return hose from the power steering gear.

  5. Object Number: 806362  Size: SH
  6. Disconnect the power steering return hose from the power steering cooler.
  7. Remove the power steering return hose.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the power steering return hose.

  2. Object Number: 806362  Size: SH
  3. Connect the power steering return hose to the power steering cooler.
  4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 798334  Size: SH

    Important: Install a new seal on the power steering return hose.

  5. Connect the power steering return hose to the power steering gear.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the hose to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  7. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls-2.6L and 3.2L.
  8. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
  9. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .

Power Steering Return Hose Replacement RHD

Removal Procedure

  1. Place a drain pan under the vehicle.
  2. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls 2.6L and 3.2L.

  3. Object Number: 827924  Size: SH
  4. Remove the power steering return hose to power steering gear retaining bolt.
  5. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  6. Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement in Body Front End.

  7. Object Number: 806362  Size: SH
  8. Disconnect the power steering return hose from the power steering cooler.

  9. Object Number: 827923  Size: SH
  10. Disconnect the power steering return hose from the power steering gear.
  11. Remove the power steering return hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 827923  Size: SH

    Important: Loosely install the return hose and retainers before tightening.

  1. Install the power steering return hose to the vehicle.
  2. Install the power steering return hose to the power steering gear.

  3. Object Number: 806362  Size: SH
  4. Install the power steering return hose to the power steering cooler.
  5. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 827924  Size: SH
  6. Install the power steering return hose to power steering gear retaining bolt.
  7. Tighten

        • Tighten the hose to gear bolt to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
        • Tighten the hose to gear fitting 30 N·m (22 lb in).
  8. Install the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement in Body Front End.
  9. Lower the vehicle.
  10. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls 2.6L and 3.2L.
  11. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
  12. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .

Power Steering Return Hose Replacement LS6

Removal Procedure

  1. Place a drain pan under the vehicle.
  2. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacementin Engine Controls-5.7L.

  3. Object Number: 1400682  Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the power steering return hose from the power steering gear.

  5. Object Number: 1391088  Size: SH
  6. Disconnect the power steering return hose from the power steering cooler.
  7. Remove the power steering return hose.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the power steering return hose.

  2. Object Number: 1391088  Size: SH
  3. Connect the power steering return hose to the power steering cooler.
  4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1400682  Size: SH

    Important: Install a new seal on the power steering return hose.

  5. Connect the power steering return hose to the power steering gear.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the hose to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  7. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacementin Engine Controls-5.7L.
  8. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
  9. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding.
