Brake Pedal Assembly Replacement Manual Trans After VIN 40101964

1. Remove the vacuum brake booster assembly. Refer to Power Vacuum Brake Booster Replacement .
2. Remove the park brake pedal assembly. Refer to Parking Brake Lever Pedal Assembly Replacement in Park Brake.
3. Remove the clutch pedal assembly. Refer to Clutch Pedal Replacement in Clutch.



4. Remove the brake pedal to cowl mounting nuts.
5. Remove the steering column support bracket to cowl mounting nut.
6. Remove the steering column support bracket to instrument panel (I/P) mounting nuts, to the right of the brake pedal.
7. Remove the brake pedal assembly to the I/P carrier mounting nuts (1).
8. Remove the vacuum brake booster mounting plate.
9. Remove the steering column support bracket to the right of the brake pedal.
10. Remove the brake pedal assembly (2).

1. Install the brake pedal assembly (2) to the vehicle.
2. Install the steering column support bracket to the vehicle.
3. Install the vacuum brake booster mounting plate.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

4. Install the brake pedal assembly to cowl mounting nuts

Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

5. Install the steering column support bracket to cowl mounting nuts

Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

6. Install the brake pedal assembly to I/P carrier mounting nuts.

Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

7. Install the steering column support bracket I/P carrier mounting nuts.

Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

8. Install the clutch pedal assembly. Refer to Clutch Pedal Replacement in Clutch.
9. Install the park brake pedal assembly. Refer to Parking Brake Lever Pedal Assembly Replacement in Park Brake.
10. Install the vacuum brake booster assembly. Refer to Power Vacuum Brake Booster Replacement .
11. Recalibrate the brake pedal position sensor. Refer to Brake Pedal Position Sensor Replacement in Lighting .

Brake Pedal Assembly Replacement RHD Automatic Trans

1. Remove the vacuum brake booster assembly. Refer to Power Vacuum Brake Booster Replacement .
2. Remove the park brake pedal assembly. Refer to Parking Brake Lever Pedal Assembly Replacement .
3. Remove the clutch pedal assembly. Refer to Clutch Pedal Replacement .



4. Remove the brake pedal to cowl mounting nuts.
5. Remove the steering column support bracket to cowl mounting nut.
6. Remove the steering column support bracket to instrument panel (I/P) mounting nuts, to the right of the brake pedal.
7. Remove the brake pedal assembly to the I/P carrier mounting nuts (1).
8. Remove the vacuum brake booster mounting plate.
9. Remove the steering column support bracket to the right of the brake pedal.
10. Remove the brake pedal assembly (2).

1. Install the brake pedal assembly (2) to the vehicle.
2. Install the steering column support bracket to the vehicle.
3. Install the vacuum brake booster mounting plate.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

4. Install the brake pedal assembly to cowl mounting nuts

Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

5. Install the steering column support bracket to cowl mounting nuts

Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

6. Install the brake pedal assembly to I/P carrier mounting nuts.

Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

7. Install the steering column support bracket I/P carrier mounting nuts.

Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

8. Install the clutch pedal assembly. Refer to Clutch Pedal Replacement .
9. Install the park brake pedal assembly. Refer to Parking Brake Lever Pedal Assembly Replacement .
10. Install the vacuum brake booster assembly. Refer to Power Vacuum Brake Booster Replacement .
11. Recalibrate the brake pedal position sensor. Refer to Brake Pedal Position Sensor Replacement .

Brake Pedal Assembly Replacement Manual Trans Before VIN 40101964

1. Remove the brake pedal to cowl mounting nuts.



2. Remove the I/P carrier assembly, to gain access to the brake pedal assembly to I/P carrier mounting nuts. Refer to Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
3. Remove the brake pedal assembly to the I/P carrier mounting nuts (1).
4. Remove the brake pedal assembly (2).

1. Install the brake pedal assembly (2) to the I/P carrier.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

2. Install the brake pedal assembly to I/P carrier mounting nuts.

Tighten
Tighten the brake pedal assembly to I/P carrier mounting nuts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

3. Install the I/P assembly. Refer to Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
4. Install the brake pedal assembly to cowl mounting nuts

Tighten
Tighten the brake pedal assembly to cowl mounting nuts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

5. Recalibrate the brake pedal position sensor. Refer to Brake Pedal Position Sensor Replacement in Lighting .

Brake Pedal Assembly Replacement LHD Automatic Trans

1. Remove the vacuum brake booster assembly. Refer to Power Vacuum Brake Booster Replacement .
2. Remove the park brake pedal assembly. Refer to Parking Brake Lever Pedal Assembly Replacement .



3. Remove the brake pedal to cowl mounting nuts.
4. Remove the steering column support bracket to cowl mounting nut.
5. Remove the steering column support bracket to instrument panel (I/P) mounting nuts, to the right of the brake pedal.
6. Remove the brake pedal assembly to the I/P carrier mounting nuts (1).
7. Remove the vacuum brake booster mounting plate.
8. Remove the steering column support bracket to the right of the brake pedal.
9. Remove the brake pedal assembly (2).

1. Install the brake pedal assembly (2) to the vehicle.
2. Install the steering column support bracket to the vehicle.
3. Install the vacuum brake booster mounting plate.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

4. Install the brake pedal assembly to cowl mounting nuts

Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

5. Install the steering column support bracket to cowl mounting nuts

Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

6. Install the brake pedal assembly to I/P carrier mounting nuts.

Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

7. Install the steering column support bracket I/P carrier mounting nuts.

Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

8. Install the park brake pedal assembly. Refer to Parking Brake Lever Pedal Assembly Replacement .
9. Install the vacuum brake booster assembly. Refer to Power Vacuum Brake Booster Replacement .
10. Recalibrate the brake pedal position sensor. Refer to Brake Pedal Position Sensor Replacement .
