Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose/Pipe Replacement LHD

Tools Required

J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

Removal Procedure

  1. Partially drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

  2. Object Number: 785752  Size: SH
  3. Position J 38185 to the clamp in order to remove the surge tank inlet hose (2) from the surge tank (1).

  4. Object Number: 1306372  Size: SH
  5. Position J 38185 to the clamp in order to remove the surge tank inlet hose from the radiator.

  6. Object Number: 785802  Size: SH
  7. Disconnect the air intake duct hoses from the throttle body assembly.

  8. Object Number: 785746  Size: SH
  9. Position J 38185 to the clamp in order to remove the surge tank inlet hose from the throttle body assembly.
  10. Remove the surge tank inlet hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 785746  Size: SH
  1. Position J 38185 to the clamp in order to connect the surge tank inlet hose to the throttle body assembly.

  2. Object Number: 785802  Size: SH
  3. Connect the air intake duct hoses to the throttle body assembly.

  4. Object Number: 1306372  Size: SH
  5. Position J 38185 to the clamp in order to connect the surge tank inlet hose to the radiator.

  6. Object Number: 791054  Size: SH
  7. Position the surge tank inlet hose to the retaining feature of the air cleaner assembly.

  8. Object Number: 785752  Size: SH
  9. Route the surge tank inlet hose under the hood assist rod support.
  10. Position J 38185 to the clamp in order to connect the surge tank inlet hose (2) to the surge tank (1).
  11. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

Removal Procedure

  1. Partially drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

  2. Object Number: 789014  Size: SH
  3. Position J 38185 to the clamp in order to remove the surge tank inlet hose (1) from the surge tank (3).

  4. Object Number: 785753  Size: SH
  5. Position J 38185 to the clamp in order to remove the surge tank inlet hose from the radiator.

  6. Object Number: 785802  Size: SH
  7. Disconnect the air intake duct hoses from the throttle body assembly.

  8. Object Number: 785750  Size: SH
  9. Position J 38185 to the clamp in order to remove the surge tank inlet hose from the throttle body assembly.
  10. Remove the surge tank inlet hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 785750  Size: SH
  1. Position J 38185 to the clamp in order to connect the surge tank inlet hose to the throttle body assembly.

  2. Object Number: 785802  Size: SH
  3. Connect the air intake duct hoses to the throttle body assembly.

  4. Object Number: 785753  Size: SH
  5. Position J 38185 to the clamp in order to connect the surge tank inlet hose to the radiator.

  6. Object Number: 786960  Size: SH
  7. Position the surge tank inlet hose to the retaining feature of the underhood fuse block cover.
  8. Route the surge tank inlet hose under the hood assist rod support.

  9. Object Number: 789014  Size: SH
  10. Position J 38185 to the clamp in order to connect the surge tank inlet hose (1) to the surge tank (3).
  11. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

Removal Procedure

  1. Partially drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

  2. Object Number: 785752  Size: SH
  3. Position J 38185 to the clamp in order to remove the surge tank inlet hose (2) from the surge tank (1).

  4. Object Number: 1319084  Size: SH
  5. Position J 38185 to the clamp in order to remove the surge tank inlet hose from the radiator.
  6. Position the J 38185 to the clamp in order to remove the surge tank inlet hose from the throttle body assembly.
  7. Remove the surge tank inlet hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Position the J 38185 to the clamp in order to connect the surge tank inlet hose to the throttle body assembly.

  2. Object Number: 1319084  Size: SH
  3. Position J 38185 to the clamp in order to connect the surge tank inlet hose to the radiator.

  4. Object Number: 791054  Size: SH
  5. Position the surge tank inlet hose to the retaining feature of the air cleaner assembly.

  6. Object Number: 785752  Size: SH
  7. Route the surge tank inlet hose under the hood assist rod support.
  8. Position the J 38185 to the clamp in order to connect the surge tank inlet hose (2) to the surge tank (1).
  9. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

  4. Object Number: 1357678  Size: SH
  5. Position J 38185 to the clamp in order to remove the surge tank inlet hose from the radiator.

  6. Object Number: 1342429  Size: SH
  7. Position the J 38185 to the clamp in order to remove the surge tank inlet hose from the throttle body assembly.
  8. Remove the surge tank inlet hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Position the J 38185 to the clamp in order to connect the surge tank inlet hose to the throttle body assembly.

  2. Object Number: 1357678  Size: SH
  3. Position J 38185 to the clamp in order to connect the surge tank inlet hose to the radiator.

  4. Object Number: 791054  Size: SH
  5. Position the surge tank inlet hose to the retaining feature of the air cleaner assembly.

  6. Object Number: 1213001  Size: SH
  7. Route the surge tank inlet hose under the hood assist rod support.
  8. Position J 38185 to the clamp in order to connect the surge tank inlet hose to the surge tank.
  9. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
