Production of 1984 Skyhawks has been extended into the 1985 model year. These vehicles will be built with 1985 model THM 125C transaxles. When servicing any of the THM 125C units used in these vehicles verify the model year by looking at the nameplate located on top of the transaxle by the manual shaft.
If the transaxle being serviced is a 1984 model, you must refer to the 1984 parts list, and if it is a 1985 model, you must refer to the 1985 parts lists in order to obtain the correct parts.
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
