Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 106815 Size: SH

Notice: Tighten the control valve assembly bolts in a spiral pattern starting from the center. If the bolts are tightened in a random pattern, the valve bores may become distorted, which can inhibit valve operation.

  1. Install the check balls (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, and 12) to the control valve.

  2. Object Number: 97213 Size: SH

Important: Do not damage the solenoid filter screens when installing the control valve.

  3. Install the control valve and manual valve link to the transmission case.
  4. Install the control valve body bolts.

  5. Object Number: 13895 Size: SH
  6. Install the manual detent spring and bolt. Do not tighten the bolt at this time.

  7. Object Number: 7745 Size: SH
  8. Install the pressure switch and bolts.

  9. Object Number: 7746 Size: SH
  10. Install the TCC solenoid with the O-ring and wiring harness and bolts.
  11. Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 11 N·m (97 lb in).

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

    Object Number: 13365 Size: SH
  12. Install the TCC PWM solenoid and retainer to the control valve.
  13. Connect the electrical connectors to the control valve body components.
  14. Tighten

        • Tighten the control valve body bolts in a spiral pattern to 11 N·m (97 lb in).
        • Tighten the pressure switch bolts to 11 N·m (97 lb in).
        • Tighten the manual detent spring bolt to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).
  15. Install the oil filter and oil pan. Refer to Automatic Transmission Fluid and Filter Replacement .
