Front Bumper Fascia Replacement Oldsmobile
Removal Procedure
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
- Remove the lower air baffle. Refer to
Front Bumper Fascia Air Deflector Replacement
.
- Remove the engine splash shield.
- Remove the wheelhouse panel. Refer to
Wheelhouse Panel Replacement
in Body Front End.
- Disconnect the 3 connectors from each side.
- Remove the 4 nuts (1)
that retain the fascia (4) to the fender (2 on each side).
- Remove the bolts (2) that retain the fascia (4)
to the fascia support.
Important: When removing or installing the fascia (1), do not allow the
fascia support stud plates (3) to contact the fender.
- Remove the fascia (1) from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
Important: When removing or installing the fascia (1), do not allow the
fascia support stud plates (3) to contact the fender.
- Install the fascia (1) to the vehicle.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the bolts (2)
in order to retain the fascia (4) to the fascia support.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 6 N·m (53 lb in).
- Install the 4 nuts (1) in order to retain the fascia (4)
to the fascia support (2 on each side).
Tighten
Tighten the nuts 10.5 N·m (93 lb in).
- Connect the 3 connectors on each side.
- Install the wheelhouse panel. Refer to
Wheelhouse Panel Replacement
in Body Front End.
- Install the engine splash shield.
- Install the lower air baffle. Refer to
Front Bumper Fascia Air Deflector Replacement
.
- Lower the vehicle.

- Remove the engine splash shield.
- Remove the wheelhouse panel. Refer to

- Disconnect the 2 connectors from each side.
- Remove the 4 nuts (3)
that retain the fascia (4) to the fender (2 on each side).
- Remove the bolts (2) that retain the fascia (4)
to the fascia support.
