Oldsmobile

Voltage is applied from the F/DR REL fuse to the rear compartment lid release relay. The voltage then travels to the rear compartment lid release switch. When the valet switch is in the ON position, pressing the rear compartment lid release switch applies voltage directly to the rear compartment lid release actuator. This action releases the rear compartment lid. The relay can also be actuated regardless of the valet switch position, using the keyless entry transmitter. The remote function actuator (RFA) module provides a ground path in order to energize the relay when the rear compartment lid release button on the keyless entry transmitter is pressed. When energized, the relay applies voltage to the rear compartment lid release actuator, releasing the rear compartment lid.

The rear compartment lid release actuator is protected by a diode for surge protection and a positive temperature coefficient device for voltage protection.

Voltage is applied from the rear compartment release fuse to the rear compartment lid release relay. With the valet switch in the ON position and the park/neutral position (PNP) switch in the PARK or NEUTRAL position, pressing the rear compartment lid release switch energizes the relay. The relay can also be actuated, regardless of the valet switch position and PNP switch position, using the keyless entry transmitter. The remote function actuator (RFA) module provides a ground path in order to energize the relay when the rear compartment lid release button on the keyless entry transmitter is pressed. When energized, the relay applies voltage to the rear compartment lid release actuator, releasing the rear compartment lid.
