  1. Refer to Memory Seats System Check for a detailed explanation of the memory seat/mirror diagnostic modes.
  2. Operate the left seat switch in all directions.
  3. The module will chime once for each switch input that the module receives.

  4. Any time a switch is operated and the module does not chime, the module did not receive an input from that switch.

Were there any switch operations where the memory seat/mirror module did not sound a chime?

  1. Disconnect the ground from the memory seat/mirror diagnostic connector.
  2. After 5 seconds, the module will sound 3 chimes in order to indicate that the module has left the diagnostic mode.

  3. Disconnect the left seat switch.
  4. With the appropriate switch pressed, connect a J 39200 digital multimeter (DMM) from the suspect connector cavity in the list below to cavity B (Oldsmobile) or cavity A (Buick) of the left seat switch:
  5. • Entire Seat Forward: L (Oldsmobile) or G (Buick) (TAN)
    • Entire Seat Back: M (Oldsmobile) or H (Buick) (LT GRN)
    • Rear Vertical Up: N (Oldsmobile) or C (Buick) (YEL)
    • Rear Vertical Down: P (Oldsmobile) or F (Buick) (LT BLU)
    • Front Vertical Down: R (Oldsmobile) or B (Buick) (DK GRN)
    • Front Vertical Down: S (Oldsmobile) or D (Buick) (DK BLU)
    • Recline Forward: F (Oldsmobile) or K (Buick) (LT GRN)
    • Recline Back: E (Oldsmobile) or L (Buick) (LT BLU)
