Backprobe the lumbar switch connector with a test lamp from cavity A (ORN) to ground.

Does the test lamp light?

  1. Backprobe the lumbar switch connector with a test lamp from cavity A (ORN) to cavity C (BLK).
  2. Backprobe the lumbar switch connector with a test lamp from cavity A (ORN) to cavity F (BLK).

Does the test lamp light for both ground cavities?

  1. Backprobe the lumbar motor connector with a test lamp from cavity A (DK BLU) to ground.
  2. Place the lumbar switch in the OUT position.

Does the test lamp light?

  1. Backprobe the lumbar motor connector with a test lamp from cavity B (PNK) (left) or cavity B (PPL) (right) to ground.
  2. Place the lumbar switch in the IN position.

Does the test lamp light?

Repair the open in CKT 1340 (ORN) between S306 (left) or S307 (right) and the lumbar switch. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the open in CKT 150 (BLK) between S304 (left) or S305 (right) and the lumbar switch. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect CKT 611 (DK BLU) (left) or CKT 211 (BRN) (right) for an open between the lumbar switch and the lumbar motor. Refer to Testing for Continuity in Wiring Systems.

Is CKT 611 or CKT 211 OK?

Inspect CKT 610 (PNK) (left) or CKT 210 (PPL) (right) for an open between the lumbar switch and the lumbar motor. Refer to Testing for Continuity in Wiring Systems.

  1. Disconnect the lumbar seat module connector C1.
  2. Connect a J 39200 digital multimeter (DMM) from the lumbar seat module connector C1 cavity A (ORN) to ground.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

  1. Disconnect the lumbar seat module connector C2.
  2. Connect a J 39200 DMM from the lumbar seat module connector C1 cavity A (ORN) to connector C2 cavity D (BLK).

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

  1. Connect a J 39200 DMM from the lumbar seat module connector C2 cavity A (RED) to cavity C (YEL) (left) or connector C1 cavity E (RED) to connector C2 cavity B (YEL) (right).
  2. Operate the upper lumbar in order to inflate and deflate.
  3. Connect a J 39200 DMM from the lumbar seat module connector C1 cavity B (GRY) to cavity D (PPL) (left) or connector C1 cavity C (GRY) to cavity F (PPL) (right).
  4. Operate the lower lumbar in order to inflate and deflate.

Is the voltage (ignore polarity) within the specified range for each switch operation?

10-15 V

Repair the open in CKT 151 (BLK/WHT) between S212 and the seat/lock switch. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
