Power Seat Does Not Tilt Rearward Buick

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Backprobe the seat rear vertical motor connector with a test lamp from cavity B (YEL) to ground.
  3. Move the rear vertical switch up.

Did the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 5

Inspect CKT 282 (YEL) (left) or CKT 288 (YEL) (right) for an open between the seat switch and the seat rear vertical motor. Refer to Testing for Continuity in Wiring Systems.

Is CKT 282 or CKT 288 OK?

--

Go to Step 4

Replace the seat switch. Refer to Power Seat Switch Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

  1. Using a test lamp, backprobe the seat rear vertical motor connector from cavity A (LT BLU) to ground.
  2. Move the rear vertical switch down.

Does the test lamp light?

Go to Step 7

Inspect CKT 283 (LT BLU) (left) or CKT 289 (LT BLU) (right) for an open. Refer to Testing for Continuity in Wiring Systems.

Is CKT 283 or CKT 289 OK?

Replace the seat rear vertical motor. Refer to Front Seat Adjuster Motor Replacement .

  2. Move the rear vertical switch up.

  2. Move the rear vertical switch down.

Repair the open in CKT 288 (YEL) between the right seat switch and the right seat rear vertical motor. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
