Power Window Inoperative - Left Side Buick

Did you perform the Power Windows System Check?

  1. Disconnect the express down module connector.
  2. Place the ignition switch in the RUN position.
  3. Use a J 39200 digital multimeter (DMM) in order to backprobe the express down module between terminal A (BRN) and ground.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

  1. Connect the DMM between the express down module connector terminal B (GRY) and ground.
  2. Use the the left front power window switch in order to lower the left front window.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Repair an open in CKT 141 (BRN). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  1. Connect the DMM between the express down module connector terminal C (DK BLU) and ground.
  2. Use the left front power window switch in order to raise the left front power window.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Test for an open or a short to ground in CKT 1136 (GRY).

Is the circuit OK?

Connect a fused jumper between the express down module terminal A (BRN) and terminal D (BRN).

  1. Connect a fused jumper between the express down module terminal D (BRN) and ground.
  2. Press the left front window UP switch on the left front power window switch.

Does the left front power window motor operate?

  1. Disconnect the express down module connector.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  3. Connect a J 39200 digital multimeter (DMM) between the express down module connector terminal A (BRN) and ground.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

  2. Press the left window DOWN switch at the left front power window switch.

  1. Disconnect the left front power window motor connector.
  2. Connect the DMM between the express down module connector terminal C (DK BLU) and ground.
  3. Press the left window UP switch on the left front power window switch.
