Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 284108  Size: MH

    Caution: Disconnect the power window switch when working inside the driver door. When operated, the Express Up/Down Feature allows the door window to move very quickly, without stopping, which could cause personal injury.

  1. Remove the bezel finish cover from the door handle bezel (5).
  2. Using a thin-bladed tool, unsnap the upper tab (3).

  3. Remove 1 screw (2) from the door handle bezel (5).
  4. Slip off the bezel (5) over the door handle.
  5. Disconnect the flood lamp wiring harness.
  6. Use thin-bladed tool in order to remove the 2 pull handle finish plugs (3).
  7. Important: Do not remove the pull handle (1).

  8. Remove the 2 screws (2) from the pull handle (1).
  9. Remove the 2 screws (2) from the upper front and the upper rear of the door trim panel (4).
  10. Remove the door trim panel (4).
  11. Lift up the door trim panel in order to disengage the hooks on the backside of the panel.

  12. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  13. Remove the door trim panel.

Installation Procedure

  1. Partially install the door trim panel.
  2. Connect the electrical connectors.
  3. Engage the hooks on the backside of the trim panel (4) in the door inner panel in order to install the trim panel.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the 2 fasteners (2) in the upper front and the upper rear of the door trim panel (4).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the 2 fasteners to 1.0 N·m (9 lb in).

  7. Install the 2 fasteners (2) in the pull handle (1).
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the 2 fasteners in the pull handle to 7 N·m (62 lb in).

  9. Install the 2 finish plugs (3) in the pull handle (1).
  10. Connect the flood lamp wiring harness connector.
  11. Install the door handle bezel (5).
  12. Retain the door handle bezel with 1 fastener (2).
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the door handle bezel fastener to 1 N·m (9 lb in).

  14. Install the bezel finish cover (3) to the door handle bezel (5).
