Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 284129  Size: SH
  1. Mark the striker position.
  2. Count the number of spacers behind the striker.
  3. Remove the 2 mini wedge striker bolts.
  4. Remove the following components:
  5. • The mini wedge striker
    • The spacer(s)
    • The washer

Installation Procedure

  1. Assemble the following components:
  2. • The mini wedge striker
    • The spacer(s)
    • The washer

    Notice: Striker alignment is a crucial part of door latch operation. Do not use the door striker to adjust the door to the vehicle. Failure to properly adjust the striker can result in damage to the door latch and the striker.

  3. Position the striker on the lock pillar with the narrow part of the wedge outboard.
  4. Loosely secure the striker using the bolts.

  5. Align the mini wedge striker. Refer to Door Lock Striker Adjustment .
  6. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Install the striker bolts.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (19 lb ft).
