Fore/Aft Adjustment Procedure
  1. Loosen the hood attaching bolts at the lower hood hinge.

    2. The oversized holes in the hinge provide for the fore and aft adjustment of the hood.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  2. Tighten the lower hood hinge attaching bolts on both sides.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 10.5 N·m (93 lb in).

Up/Down Adjustment Procedure
  1. Remove the hood hinge cover from the lower hood hinge.
  2. Adjust the hood up by shimming at the lower hood hinge.

    3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Make additional up/down adjustments at the hinge pivot bolts. Ream the holes in order to make additional adjustments, as needed.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the pivot bolts to 10.5 N·m (93 lb in).

  4. Adjust the hood latch assembly as needed. Sufficient load must remain on the hood stop bumpers in order to eliminate hood flutter.
  5. Lower the hood latch assembly an additional 1/8 inch in order to eliminate hood flutter.
  6. Adjust the rear center bumper in order to eliminate rear flutter.
