Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the fuel injector sight shield, if equipped with engine option code L67. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement in Engine Mechanical-3.8L.

    2. Object Number: 289630 Size: SH

    Important: Remember the cable routing for the replacement procedure.

  2. Disconnect the cruise control cable from the following components:
    3. • The TBI cam (1)
    • The throttle body bracket (2)

    Object Number: 141845 Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the cruise control cable (1) from the cruise control module (3).
  4. Remove the cruise control cable from the retainers.
  5. Remove the cruise control cable.

Installation Procedure
  1. Install the cruise control cable to the retainers.

    2. Object Number: 141845 Size: SH
  2. Install the cruise control cable (2) to the cruise control module (1).

    3. Object Number: 289630 Size: SH
  3. Connect the cruise control cable to the following components:
    4. • The TBI cam (1)
    • The throttle body bracket (2)
  4. Adjust the cable. Refer to Cruise Control Cable Adjustment .
  5. Install the fuel injector sight shield, if equipped with engine option code L67. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement in Engine Mechanical-3.8L.
