Radio Replacement Buick
Removal Procedure
- Remove the instrument
cluster trim plate. Refer to
Instrument Cluster Trim Panel Replacement
in Instrument Panel, Gauges
and Console.
- Remove the fasteners (1) that retain the radio to the instrument
panel.
- Partially remove the radio.
- Disconnect the electrical connector (3).
- Disconnect the antenna lead (4) from the radio.
- Remove the radio (2).
Installation Procedure
- Partially install the
radio (2).
- Connect the electrical
connector (3).
- Connect the antenna lead (4) to the radio.
- Align the radio to the Instrument panel.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the fasteners (1)
in order to retain the radio to the instrument panel.
Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 1.9 N·m (17 lb in).
- Install the instrument cluster trim plate. Refer to
Instrument Cluster Trim Panel Replacement
in Instrument
Panel, Gauges and Console.
Radio Replacement Oldsmobile
Removal Procedure
- Remove the center trim plate. Refer to
Instrument Panel Center Trim Panel Replacement
in Instrument Panel,
Gauges and Console.
- Remove the fasteners (3)
that retain the radio to the instrument panel.
- Partially remove the radio (2) from the instrument panel
assembly.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors (1).
- Disconnect the antenna lead (6) from the radio.
- Remove the radio.
Installation Procedure
- Partially install the
radio.
- Connect the electrical connectors (1).
- Connect the antenna lead (6) to the radio.
- Install the radio (2) to the instrument panel assembly.
