Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 470484 Size: SH
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
  2. Remove the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement .
  3. Remove the steering column shrouds.
  4. Remove the left closeout/insulator panel (if equipped with traction control). Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console.
  5. Disconnect electrical connector from traction control harness, if equipped. Feed the harness out of the column. Observe the harness routing and location in order to assist in reassembly.
  6. Remove the TORX® head fastener from the shift lever to shift control.
  7. Pull the shift lever upward in order to remove the lever from the shift control.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 470484 Size: SH
  1. Push the shift lever downward in order to engage the lever into the shift control.
  2. Install the TORX® head fastener.
  3. Feed the traction control harness (if equipped) through the column. Carefully route the harness as previously observed.
  4. Install the steering column shrouds.
  5. Install the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement .
  6. Install the left closeout/insulator panel (if equipped with traction control). Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console.
  7. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
