Was the PARK BRAKE SET message displayed during the Brake Warning System Check?

  1. Disconnect the instrument cluster and the brake fluid level sensor.
  2. Connect a J 39200 digital multimeter (DMM) between the instrument cluster harness connector C2, terminal B2 and the brake fluid level sensor harness connector terminal C.

Is the resistance less than the specified value?

5 ohms

Go to Step 4

Perform the Instrument Cluster System Check. Refer to Instrument Cluster System Check in Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console.

If no problems were found, replace the instrument cluster.

Did you complete the repair?

  1. Repair an open in CKT 209 (PPL). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
  2. If the circuit is open, test for a short to positive voltage.

  1. Disconnect the instrument cluster and the brake fluid level sensor.
  2. Connect a J 39200 digital multimeter (DMM) between the instrument cluster harness connector C2, terminal B2 and the brake fluid level sensor harness connector terminal C.

Is the resistance less than the specified value?

Perform the Instrument Cluster System Check. Refer to Instrument Cluster System Check in Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console.

If no problems were found, replace the instrument cluster.
