Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the tie
rod ends to the knuckles.
Tighten
• | Tighten the bracket bolts to 40 N·m (38 lb ft). |
• | Tighten the stabilizer link nut to 17 N·m (13 lb ft). |
• | Tighten the tie rod end to the knuckle nuts to 48 N·m
(35 lb ft). |
| The maximum torque for the cotter pin alignment is 70 N·m
(52 lb ft). DO NOT back off of the nut in order to insert the
cotter pin. |
- Install the cotter pins into the tie rod ends.
- Install the exhaust pipe to the manifold. Refer to Exhaust.
Tighten
