ECM APPLICATION CHANGE NEW ECM PART NUMBER

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1985 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, Delta 88, Toronado and Buick Riviera Equipped With 5.0L V-8 Engine (VIN Code 'Y') ------------------------------------------

A change was made in the ECM application used with the 5.0L V-8 engine (VIN Code 'Y') in some 1985 Oldsmobile and Buick models. The diagnostics for both units remains the same; however, the ECMs are not interchangeable. The second type ECM, part number 1227076 replaces the first type ECM, part number 1226866 on Oldsmobiles and Buicks built after the following serial numbers:
