SES or MIL Light On with DTC P2138 - accelerate APP body connector driveability electrical inoperative intermittent LY7 light loss low MIL On pedal performance P1125 P2119 P2121 P2176 power sensor

When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.

SES or MIL indicator light illuminated on instrument panel

If you encounter an SES light complaint and find DTC P2138--Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) Sensor 1-2 correlation concern or other related codes, check the wiring harness from the ECM to the throttle body. The harness that comes from the ECM and goes to the throttle body assembly may be stretched too tight causing the DTC(s) to set and turn the SES light on. Inspect the throttle body wires and conector for damage, as well as harness routing to relieve the tension. See SI document ID 1374899 for schematics involving throttle body circuits: 485, 2701, 486, 2752, 581, 582. Do a wiggle test to help determine the integrity of the connector.

If the harness connector is damaged at the throttle body, you may use PN 15306420 to repair. The kit includes the throttle body connector with six new wire leads with all the correct terminals and connectors to splice the jumper kit to the original harness.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance. This diagnostic approach was developed for the vehicle with the VIN you entered and should not be automatically be used for other vehicles with similar symptoms.
