Removal Procedure
- Place the drain pan under the vehicle in order to catch any fluid
that may drain.
- Remove
the clamp holding the power steering return hose to the power steering pump.
- Remove the power steering return hose from the power steering
pump.
- Remove the clamp holding the power steering return hose to the
power steering return line.
- Remove the rubber section of the power steering return line assembly.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting and Jacking
in General Information.
- Loosen the clamps on the
following components:
• | The power steering return hose. |
• | The power steering cooler pipe. |
- Remove the rubber section of the power steering return hose from
the power steering return line and the power steering cooler pipe.
Installation Procedure
- Install the rubber section
of the power steering return hose to the power steering return line and the
power steering cooler pipe
- Tighten the clamps on the following components:
• | The power steering return hose. |
• | The power steering cooler pipe. |
- Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install the rubber section of the power
steering return line assembly to the power steering return line and the power
steering pump.
- Tighten the clamps on power steering return hose.
- Fill the system. Refer to

- Bleed the system. Refer to
Power Steering System Bleeding
.
- Inspect the system for leaks. Refer to
Power Steering Gear and Pump Leaks
.
