Roof Side Rail Lamp Replacement Bulb

Removal Procedure

  1. Using a small flat-bladed tool, carefully release the retainers and remove the side rail lamp lens from the side rail lamp assembly.
  2. Remove the screws retaining the side rail lamp housing to the assist handle assembly.
  3. Release the socket from the side rail lamp housing.
  4. Remove the bulb from the socket.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the bulb to the side rail lamp socket.
  2. Install the socket to the side rail lamp housing.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the screws retaining the side rail lamp housing to the assist handle assembly.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten side rail lamp housing to assist handle assembly retaining screws to 1.2 N·m (11 lb in).

  6. Align and carefully install the side rail lamp lens to the side rail lamp assembly.
