Removal Procedure
- Raise and support the
vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General
Information.
- Remove the tires and wheels. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
in Tires and Wheels.
- Remove the rear right stabilizer shaft link bolts.
- Remove the rear left stabilizer shaft link bolts.
- Remove the insulator brackets and the bolts from the stabilizer
shaft (2).
- Remove the stabilizer shaft (2) from the rear suspension support
(1).
Installation Procedure
- Install the stabilizer
shaft (2).
- Install the stabilizer shaft insulator brackets and hand the bolts.
Do not tighten the nuts at this time.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the right
and left rear stabilizer shaft link nuts.
Tighten
• | Tighten the stabilizer shaft link nuts to 35 N·m
(26 lb ft). |
• | Tighten the stabilizer shaft insulator bracket bolts to 48 N·m
(35 lb ft). |
- Install the tires and wheels. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
in Tires and Wheels.
- Lower the vehicle.
