The rear compartment lid release actuator is actuated when the following conditions exist:

With keyless entry the body control module (BCM) receives the remote control door lock receiver input and commands the rear compartment release actuator to release.

The BCM will command the rear compartment release actuator if the following conditions exist:

If the vehicle is in a position other than PARK, the rear compartment lid release actuator is inactive.
