J 35468 Cover Aligner/Seal Installer

1. Remove the crankshaft balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Replacement .



2. Pry out the crankshaft front oil seal with a large flat-bladed tool. Refer to the instructions supplied with the replacement part.
3. Inspect the crankshaft, the crankshaft balancer and the engine front cover for wear and/or damage. Replace or repair the crankshaft, the crankshaft balancer and engine front cover as necessary.

1. Lubricate the crankshaft front oil seal with engine oil in order to make installation easier.



2. Install the crankshaft front oil seal using the J 35468 .

Ensure that the crankshaft front oil seal lip faces the engine.




3. Ensure the crankshaft front oil seal is installed flush to the engine front cover (1).
4. Install the crankshaft balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Replacement .
5. Inspect for leaks.
