HVAC Control Module Replacement CJ4

Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the IP accessory trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

    2. Object Number: 410372 Size: SH
  2. Remove the HVAC control module mounting bolts.

    3. Object Number: 410369 Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  4. Remove the HVAC control module.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 410369 Size: SH
  1. Connect the electrical connector.

    2. Object Number: 410372 Size: SH
  2. Install the heater HVAC control module.

    3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the heater HVAC control module mounting bolts.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the control module bolts to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  4. Install the IP accessory trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the instrument panel accessory trim plate. Refer to Instrument Cluster Trim Panel Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  2. Remove the front floor console, if equipped. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

    3. Object Number: 410416 Size: SH
  3. Remove the retaining bolts from the HVAC control module.
  4. Pull the HVAC control module out from the instrument panel.

    5. Object Number: 410422 Size: SH
  5. Disconnect the electrical connectors and the vacuum harness, if equipped from the HVAC control module.
  6. Remove the HVAC control module.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 410422 Size: SH
  1. Connect the electrical connectors and the vacuum harness, if equipped to the HVAC control module.

    2. Object Number: 410416 Size: SH
  2. Install the HVAC control module into the instrument panel.

    3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure.   3. Install the retaining bolts to secure the HVAC control module.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the HVAC control module bolts to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  4. Install the instrument panel accessory trim plate. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  5. Install the front floor console, if equipped. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
