Lap Air Outlet Replacement CJ4

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the front seats. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket in Seats.
  2. Remove the front floor console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  3. Remove the auxiliary HVAC module. Refer to Auxiliary HVAC Module Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 482467  Size: SH
  5. Remove the retaining screws from the lap outlet duct.
  6. Remove the outlet duct from the front floor console.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 482467  Size: SH
  1. Install the lap outlet duct to the front floor console.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the retaining screws into the lap outlet duct.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the lap air duct screws to 1.9 N·m (17 lb in).

  5. Install the auxiliary HVAC module. Refer to Auxiliary HVAC Module Replacement .
  6. Install the front floor console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  7. Install the front seats. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket in Seats.
