Removal Procedure
- Open and support the hood.
- Use a grease pencil in order to mark the upper hood hinge location to the hood.
- With the help of an assistant, remove the bolts from the upper hood hinge.
- With the help of an assistant, remove the hood from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- With the help of an assistant, install the hood to the vehicle.
- Align the hood hinges to the alignment marks on the hood.
- With the help of an assistant, install the bolts to the upper hood hinge.
- Adjust the hood as required. Refer to Hood Adjustment .
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the upper hood hinge bolts to 27 N·m(20 lb ft).
