  1. Disconnect the cruise control module.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  3. Turn the cruise control switch to the ON position.
  4. Using a test light, frontprobe the cruise control module connector between terminal C and ground.
  5. Press and hold the cruise switch to the R/A (Resume/Accelerate) position in order to observe the test light.

Does the test light illuminate?

Inspect for a poor connection at the cruise control module terminal C.

Repair the poor connection at the cruise control module terminal C.

Inspect circuit 87 for a poor connection or an open.
