Check the engine oil level.

Is the engine oil level at the FULL mark on the dipstick?

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 2

1. Fill the engine oil level to the full mark on the dip stick.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.

Does the low oil indicator illuminate for approximately 3 seconds and turn off?

--

System OK

Go to Step 3

Check for powertrain control module (PCM) DTCs.

Are any PCM DTCs set?

--

Go to Powertrain On Board Diagnostic (OBD) System Check in Engine Controls-3.1L or Powertrain On Board Diagnostic (OBD) System Check in Engine Controls-3.8L

Go to Step 4

1. Connect a Scan Tool to the vehicle data link connector (DLC).
2. Enter the instrument cluster WOW mode.
3. Command the instrument cluster indicators on.

Does the low oil indicator turn on?

Go to Powertrain On Board Diagnostic (OBD) System Check in Engine Controls-3.1L or Powertrain On Board Diagnostic (OBD) System Check in Engine Controls-3.8L

Go to Step 5

Replace the instrument cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .

Is the repair complete?
