The courtesy lights do not turn on when the IP dimmer switch is in the DOME position. The courtesy lights turn on when any door is open.

1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
2. Connect the Scan Tool to the Data Link Connector (DLC).
3. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
4. Use the Scan Tool in order to monitor the status of the CTSY LAMP SW.
5. While observing the Scan Tool , turn the IP dimmer switch from off to DOME, and back to off.

Does the Scan Tool display that the status of the CTSY LAMP SW is high when the IP dimmer switch is in the DOME position?

1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
2. Disconnect the Scan Tool from the DLC.
3. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
4. Close all the vehicle doors.
5. While observing the courtesy lights, turn the IP dimmer switch to the DOME position.

Do the courtesy lights turn on when the IP dimmer switch is in the DOME position?

1. Turn the IP dimmer switch to the DOME position.
2. Use a test light in order to probe and connect between the following components:

•	The Body Control Module (BCM) connector C1 terminal D15

•

Ground

Does the test light illuminate?

1. Inspect the BCM connector C1 terminal D15 for a poor terminal contact. Perform repairs as necessary.
2. If the BCM Connector C1 terminal D15 is OK, then replace the BCM. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System.
3. After BCM replacement, perform the Setup New BCM Procedure. Refer to Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration in Body Control System.

1. Disconnect the headlamp switch electrical connector.
2. Use a test light in order to connect between the following components:

•	The headlamp switch harness connector terminal S

•

Ground

Does the test light illuminate?

1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
2. Disconnect the BCM connector C1.
3. Use a J 39200 Digital Multimeter (DMM) in order to measure the resistance between the following components:

•	The BCM harness connector C1 terminal D15

•	The headlamp switch harness connector terminal M

Is the resistance within the specified range?

Less than 2 ohms

Repair a poor connection of an open in circuit 32.

Has the repair been made?

Replace the headlamp switch assembly.

Repair the a poor connection or an open in circuit 1495.
