The steering column joints are loose or worn.

Inspect the steering column joints for proper torque. Refer to Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column-Tilt.

Replace components as neccasary. Refer to Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column-Tilt.

The power steering gear is loose.

Tighten the Power steering gear mounting bolts to specifications. Refer to Steering Gear Replacement .

The tie rods are loose.

1. Inspect the tie rods. Refer to Rack and Pinion Outer Tie Rod End Replacement , Steering Linkage Inner Tie Rod Replacement , or Steering Linkage Inner Tie Rod Replacement .
2. Replace the tie rods. Refer to Rack and Pinion Outer Tie Rod End Replacement , Steering Linkage Inner Tie Rod Replacement , or Steering Linkage Inner Tie Rod Replacement .

The wheel bearings are loose.

Replace the wheel bearings. Refer to Front Wheel Drive Shaft Bearing Replacement in Front Suspension.
