Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement VIN 1

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 48488  Size: SH
  1. Remove the supercharger drive belt. Refer to Accessory Drive Belts Replacement

  2. Object Number: 97873  Size: SH
  3. Remove the drive belt tensioner nut.
  4. Remove the drive belt tensioner.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 97873  Size: SH
  1. Install the drive belt tensioner.
  2. Install the drive belt tensioner nut.
  3. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the supercharger drive belt. Refer to Accessory Drive Belts Replacement

Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery ground (negative) cable. Refer to

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  2. Drain the engine coolant from the cooling system. Refer to Cooling and Radiator.
  3. Remove the supercharger drive belt (VIN 1). Refer to Accessory Drive Belts Replacement
  4. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Accessory Drive Belts Replacement
  5. Remove the generator. Refer to Charging System.
  6. Remove the heater hoses. Refer to HVAC.

  8. Remove the drive belt tensioner bolts.
  9. Remove the drive belt tensioner.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 36693  Size: SH
  1. Install the drive belt tensioner.
  2. Install the drive belt tensioner bolts.
  3. Tighten
    Tighten the drive belt bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application.   4. Install the heater hoses. Refer to HVAC.
  5. Install the generator. Refer to Charging System.
  6. Install the drive belt. Refer to Accessory Drive Belts Replacement
  7. Install the supercharger drive belt (VIN 1). Refer to Accessory Drive Belts Replacement
  8. Fill the cooling system with engine coolant. Refer to Cooling and Radiator.
  9. Connect the battery ground (negative) cable. Refer to Battery.
