DCS MESSAGE DCS#93-02 GROUP #6D SOME 1993 REGALS WITH 3800 ENGINE (VIN CODE L) WITHIN VIN BREAKPOINTS OF P1400017 THROUGH P1407129 MAY HAVE BEEN ASSEMBLED WITH THE WIRE HARNESS TO THE TRANSAXLE POSITION SWITCH IN CONTACT WITH A METAL FUEL LINE.
THIS COULD RESULT IN CHAFING OF ONE OF THESE WIRES DURING VEHICLE SHIPPING OR AT RELATIVELY LOW MILEAGE, RESULTING IN A GROUND OUT CONDITION. THIS CONDITION TYPICALLY OCCURS WITH CIRCUIT 5 (YELLOW WIRE) AND RESULTS IN A BLOWN 60 AMP FUSE ELEMENT "R" AND A NO-START CONDITION.
TO AVOID A NO-START CONDITION AT YOUR DEALERSHIP OR POSSIBLE INCONVENIENCE TO THE CUSTOMER, THE "P" CLIP ON THE TRANSAXLE MOUNT BRACKET SHOULD BE RELOCATED FROM A VERTICAL "P" TO AN UPSIDE DOWN "P" PER ATTACHED ILLUSTRATION, AND ANY CHAFED WIRING SHOULD BE REPAIRED PER STANDARED PROCEDURE.
