Removal Procedure
- Remove the instrument panel (I/P)
compartment. Refer to
Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement
in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
- Remove the right sound insulator. Refer to
Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side
in Instrument Panel, Gages,
and Console.
- Remove the body control module (BCM) and the HVAC programmer from
the brackets and lay aside.
- Remove the I/P relay and fuse junction block lower electrical connectors.
- Remove the bolts and nut, then turn the relay block and disconnect the
upper electrical connectors.
- Remove the I/P fuse and relay junction block.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the recirculation actuator.
- Remove the recirculation actuator retaining screws (1).
- Remove the recirculation actuator.
Installation Procedure
- Install the recirculation actuator.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the recirculation actuator retaining screws (1).
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 1.4 N·m (12 lb in).
- Connect the electrical connector to the recirculation actuator.
- Connect the I/P fuse and relay block upper electrical connectors.
- Position the relay block and install the bolts and nut.
Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 8 N·m (80 lb in).
- Connect the lower relay block electrical connectors.
- Install the BCM and the HVAC programmer into the appropriate brackets.
- Install the right sound insulator. Refer to
Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side
in Instrument Panel, Gages,
and Console.
- Install the I/P compartment. Refer to
Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement
in Instrument Panel, Gages, and
Console.
- Recalibrate the actuators. Refer to
Actuator Recalibration
.
